Bioarchaeology. Forensics. Crime.
As a researcher, I am passionate about understanding the intricacies of people and societies. I am particularly interested in combining bioarchaeological approaches with criminological theories to address contemporary sociocultural questions. From understanding the effects of colonialism on marginalized populations to exploring the impacts of societal structures on health and wellbeing, I aim to promote a more comprehensive understanding of history and cultures.
My ultimate goal is to employ the tools of modern science and technology to not only study the past but also to inform the present and shape future cultural narratives. I want to give voices back to those who were silenced.

Where have my studies taken me?
Greece.
In the Fall of 2022, I participated in the Dr. Gerald Schaus Internship at the Canadian Institute in Greece (CIG). For 3 months, I was immersed in the local culture of Athens and learned about the processes behind Canadian-led archaeological fieldwork projects conducted in Greece.
The CIG works to promote Canadian research and education in field relating to Greeceās heritage.
Nova Scotia.
In the summer of 2022, I was fortunate to participate in the UNB Bioarchaeology Field School, in partnership with Parks Canada, at the Fortress of Louisbourg. Over the course of 4 weeks, I learned a variety of field & lab techniques while exploring the history of the site.
This multi-year project is working on uncovering and relocating burials that are threatened by persisting coastal erosion.
